As an ajax interface designer, I was given the section of YourStyle which is survey that helps give you tips of what activities to accomplish to lose weight. Also directs you to what type of meal plan that is suitable for your needs. This section was quite complicated as there were multiple user cases for different roles and all the data was stored in an oracle database, managed by backend java developers. As the project was near its completetion I was involved with multiple bug fixes and assigned different sections of the site to fix.

Cox Communication is a company that provides digital cable television and telecommunications services in the United States. It is the third-largest cable television provider in the United States. Work was done on the markup and javascript interface using mootools and dojo libraries.

vLES

vLES is an online social network that revolves around New York City's Lower East Side. This Drupal site required work on its frontend.

vSide

vSide is a free to join true-3D virtual world providing "next-generation" entertainment and social networking for the teen demographic. I worked a lot with slicing up photoshop files and converting it to w3c markup. The site uses scriptaculous JavaScript libraries and pieces of flash.

Universal Music Group is the largest business group and family of record labels in the recording industry. For this Drupal site I did the interface and frontend development for various sections of the site. A lot of work was done on making it cross browser complient and speeding up its performance.

The Wrap

Based in Los Angeles and New York, The Wrap is a news and information network covering the entertainment and media industries. It began with an online presence at thewrap.com, in coordination with editorial partners, in January 2009. Led by nationally renowned journalist Sharon Waxman, the former Hollywood correspondent for The New York Times, the site is anchored by other top journalists in the fields of entertainment and media. In February 2009, the site had over 130,000 visits and 650,000 page views. In just one month, it grew to over 240,000 unique visits and over 900,000 page views. The Wrap involved multiple solutions for publication process, controlling of content, usability for non-tech savy editors, and caching to improve performance because of its large traffic.

MephoBox

Originally developed for personal use to store inspiration and artwork that I loved that was on the web. It was my way to keep organized categories of sites instead of using delicious and other web resources. The concept was all images and minimal text. I wanted to open it up and see how the community responds.

BACKEND DEVELOPMENT

Rack Attack

As a full time intern for 6 months, I worked on revamping Rack Attack's backend system. This involved employment tracking and multiple record statistics. The site was done using custom PHP and SQL Server 2005, which involved working with order management and credit card charges. XML parsing was also required also for tracking UPS shipments.

Given a specific requirements of using ASP and SQL SERVER I was to create a site with content management abilities. The choice was to use dotnetnuke and develop custom modules to fit the need of their inhouse developer. Newsletter management was also a part of this site's backend.

Take Charge On Toxics is a website for Canadian Cancer Society focusing on information about protecting people from exposure to cancer-causing substances at home, at work and in their environment. The objective was a visual appealing and simple to use website within their budget.

WHO AM I?

Justin Tsang Hailing from the fjords of Norway, I am a web designer, web developer and UX designer who has worked on various interactive media projects for a wide variety of organizations. Armed with a Bachelor of Computer Science degree and 4 years of web design experience, I continue to work with cross browser issues and redesign websites that have aged too long.

I am one of those unique developers with a keen eye for design and usability. Always looking to improve admin controls and normal users experience on every site.

Recently I have been working with multiple drupal projects ranging from large corporate sites to small html sites to be ported over to Content Management Systems. From client communication to wireframing to design to development to full testing I have done it all.
